We had to say goodbye to our old friend Buddy on Monday 4/23/12. He was 38 years old. He loved giving lessons, it didn’t matter how old or young, how green, or advanced, how scared, or confident you were, he could teach you something. His favorite lessons were little kids and people who were scared. He made them feel that they could do anything. All Billy had to do was tell the rider what he wanted and Buddy did it without waiting for the rider. No one was ever scared after riding Buddy. We hope you are in heaven kicking up your heels with all of your old friends like Doc, Shaq and Nick. We miss you.
Many thanks to everybody who came out to Buddy’s retirement party. It was a great send off.
Cindy and I are showing some of our horses in Paso Robles today. We’ll be back at the barn tomorrow. Relax, sit back, heels down…
It’s time for Buddy to retire (I’m jealous). I’ll have more to say about Buddy later, but please see the invitation to his retirement party here.
There is a chance we will get rain throughout the week. If so, we might not have time to prepare our horses for the Bakersfield show. I will keep everybody posted.
Cindy and I will be taking three or four horses to the KCCHA competition in Bakersfield on Saturday, February 19th. If you would like to attend, directions to the venue and other information can be found here. Please stop by and say hello.
Come back soon for our latest news, upcoming shows, and training tips.
